So I thought jam was hard to make but we have found it fun and fairly easy….saying that the proof is in the pudding. We have 13 differing size jars from 2kg of fruit and 1.7kg more to jam but not enough jars with seal buttons left.

Harvesting

Busy day at the allotment. After doing some reading around we decided to pick the gooseberries. We are going to make jam so they seemed perfect for that. Head gardener decided to tackle some weeding and both allotment kids came along. Even reluctant digger joined in – filling water bottles and weeding.

Tatty tickling and broccoli

So Head Gardner had been to the allotment to pick up the potatoes and broccoli for dinner. Littlest digger was in her element and came back pleased as punch. Again we know Tesco’s/Sainsbury/Morrisons (insert any other supermarket name) will not be going out of business but it feels nice to know tonight’s pork chops will be served with new potatoes, chives, broccoli and cauliflower all lovingly grown by us.
